Mayelin Cespedes is an Associate Attorney at Demesmin & Dover Law Firm.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Mayelin Cespedes moved to the United States in 1980 with her family when she was 5 years old. Her family fled Communism and embraced the freedoms the United States had to offer, a decision she deeply appreciates and holds close to her heart. Fluent in Spanish, Mayelin cherishes her Cuban culture and has instilled the same love for it in her two children, Karina and Elvis.
Having practically lived her entire life in Hillsborough County, Mayelin earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida in 1996. In 1999, she began her journey in law school at Stetson University College of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2001. Immediately after law school, Mayelin joined the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office as a Prosecutor, where she dedicated herself to advocating for victims for almost 22 years. Throughout her career, Mayelin has remained passionate about advocating for the rights of those who have been wronged and using her voice to speak up for the voiceless.
